The world’s best young squash players are descending on Hamburg this week for the 2026 European Junior Open — and you can watch all the action live on European Squash TV!
Starting on Thursday (9 July), the European Junior Open is an ESF Platinum tournament taking place for the second successive year at Sportwerk Hamburg. It will feature over 215 players across eight draws.
Coming just a few days after the conclusion of the prestigious Dutch Junior Open in Amsterdam, and two weeks before the World Junior Championships in Canada, the European Junior Open is a key part of a busy and fascinating period in elite junior squash.

BU19 draw
Spaniard Oriol Salvia Ripoll (pictured above) is seeded no.1 in the BU19 category. The European no.2 won the Austrian Junior Open in February and reached the semis in the European U19 Championships and German Junior Open.
Seeded second is Elad Robenshtok, who won the BU19 bronze medal in Amsterdam on Sunday and played for the Israel senior team at the European Team Championships in May as they sealed promotion to Division 1. His compatriot Tamir Wiegenfeld is seeded 5/8.
The two 3/4 seeds are last week’s Dutch Junior Open champion Yassin Kouritam of Egypt and the man he beat in the semis of that tournament in an epic five-game duel, Sebastian Hylland of Norway.
GU19 draw

Two Englishwomen lead the GU19 seedings with Reka Kemecsei (pictured above, centre) and Harriet Broadbridge slated to meet each other in the final.
Kemecsei was a bronze medallist at this year’s European U19 Individual Championships while Broadbridge reached the last 16 in the British Junior Open U17 draw in January. Both are in the England squad heading to Niagara-on-the-Lake later this month for the World Junior Championships.
Hoping to challenge for a second successive ESF title will be last week’s Dutch Junior Open champion Renske Huntelaar of the Netherlands. Maya Mandour of Egypt is the other 3/4 seed. USA’s Judy Liu, the GU17 champion in Amsterdam, is seeded 5/8.
