French pair Amir Khaled-Jousselin and Lauren Baltayan start as title favourites at the European U19 Individual Championships in Krakow (28-31 March) — and you can watch all the action LIVE and for free on European Squash TV!
Defending champion Khaled-Jousselin, who’s still only 17, begins his Individual title defence against Ireland’s Tyler Dromgoole on Saturday morning.
The Nancy-born star faces a potential semi-final with England’s 3/4 seed Ronnie Hickling and is seeded to face British junior champion [2] Dylan Roberts in the final.
Roberts begins his campaign against France’s Leo Gaillard before facing a potential semi-final match-up with Spain’s 3/4 seed Oriol Salvia Ripoll.
For Baltayan, who won the British Junior Open GU19 title so gloriously in January, these championships will mark the end of her junior career.
The defending champion starts with a first-round bye before facing either Germany’s Alina Reißenauer or Andrea Balogh of Romania in round two. Baltayan is seeded to face [3/4] Reka Kemecsei of England in the semis and potentially [2] Mariam Eissa (a British Junior Open GU17 bronze medallist) in the final on Tuesday.
After receiving a first-round bye, Eissa will begin her campaign against either Riley Slade of Ireland or Turkiye’s Feride Anar. Beglium’s 3/4 seed Savannah Moxham will start against either Dutchwoman Karlijn van der Meer or Villo Varga of Hungary.
The European U19 Individual Championships are followed by the European U19 Mixed Team Championships (2-5 April).
