The European Squash Federation is staging the first ever European Squash Cup U23 this October in Lisbon to support players transitioning from the junior circuit to the professional tour.
The European Squash Cup U23, which it’s hoped will become an annual event on the ESF calendar, seeks to fill a long-standing gap in the player development pathway.
The inaugural edition, open to European players over 19 and under 23, will be held from 15-18 October at Lisbon’s Olaias Squash Club, one of the most iconic squash venues in Portugal.
The tournament will award PSA ranking points and each draw will feature prize money of €2,000.
In the week preceding the European Squash Cup U23 (9-11 October), a men’s and women’s PSA 3k tournament will take place in Albufeira, Algarve, as part of its European City of Sport 2026 celebrations.
This event will provide players with the opportunity to compete in two consecutive events in Portugal, with a combined prize money of €5k+ €5k over a two-week stay.
The European Squash Cup U23 will be delivered by the Portuguese Squash Federation in partnership with ESF.

“We are very hopeful that there will be a large turnout, and we are ready to put on a fantastic tournament for all the players.”
Thomas Troedsson, President of the ESF, said: “The European Squash Cup U23 will be an important addition to the ESF calendar.
“This is a proactive move to better support players during the key period between their graduation from the junior ranks and settling into life on the PSA Squash Tour.
“We hope many players seize this opportunity to take part in the inaugural edition of the event as well as the preceding PSA 3k event in the Albufeira.”
